HOME REMEDIES FOR GREY HAIR

Natural ways to treat grey hair :-

Hairs undergo a natural cycle of shedding and regeneration. Old hair shed and new hair come and old hairs are replaced by new hairs. As we grow old, the rate of regeneration of hair decreases and rate of hair fall increases, and hair follicles produce less color which causes grey hair, i.e., black old hairs are replaced by grey hairs. There are many home remedies that can help prevent greying of hair.

Some of the effective home remedies for grey hair are as follows:

Natural ways to stop premature greying of hairs:

  1. Coconut oil: Massage your head with coconut oil every other day before going to bed. In the next morning wash your hair as usual. 
  • Amla: Drink one glass of fresh amla juice every day and massage your head with amla oil once or twice a week.
  • Ginger: Take one tablespoon of freshly grated ginger and mix it with one tablespoon of honey. Eat it every day.
  • Black sesame seeds: It is believed that eating one tablespoon of black sesame seeds helps slow down or reverse the greying process of hairs. 
  • Onion: Onion juice helps prevent greying of hair. Take two onions and blend in a blender. Then strain it to separate the onion juice. Massage your scalp with this onion juice twice a week. After massage wait for thirty minutes then wash your hair with shampoo as usual.
  • Ghee: (clarified butter): Massage your scalp with pure ghee twice a week.
  • Almond Oil: Take equal parts of almond oil, lemon juice and amla juice and mix them well. Massage your scalp with this mixture every day.
  • Ashwagandha: It is also known as Indian ginseng. Take this supplement with food to prevent greying of hair.
  • Curry leaves: Make a paste of 1/3 cup of curry leaves (Murraya koenigii) and 1/2 cup of yoghurt. Twice or thrice a week, massage your scalp with this paste and wash it off after 30 minutes.
  • Wheatgrass juice: Drink half a cup of fresh wheatgrass juice every day. You can also add 1 tablespoon of wheatgrass powder to your food like soups, smoothies, curries, etc.
